Women who are trying to get pregnant often have lots of pregnancy questions.  They read lots of books about baby development and medical literatures that discuss pregnancy week by week development.  Unfortunately, most couples tend to neglect issues about parenting styles.  If you are expecting a baby, then it is very important to have a clear understanding of the different styles of parenting.  The way you raise your baby has a great impact on his or her overall emotional and mental development.

As a future parent, you have a responsibility to nurture the baby inside your womb.  You have to take note that the first trimester of baby development is very critical.  At this stage, the survival of the fetus is not yet guaranteed.  So once you confirmed that you are pregnant, you have to immediately consult your doctor to clarify whatever pregnancy questions you have.  Your doctor will also give you a quick overview of pregnancy week by week development.  Based on the information that you can get, you will be able to understand how to take care of the growing fetus.  Of course, your doctor will also give you competent professional advice about dieting, pregnancy exercise, and the right pregnancy supplements.  You have to seriously follow the advices of your doctor to ensure proper baby development.

You may not notice it but your first actions during the early stages of baby development are already part of your responsibilities as a parent.  The mere fact that you are getting the best medical care indicates that you are taking parenthood seriously.  However, knowing the basic pregnancy questions and child development is not enough to become a good mother.  You also need to educate yourself about the right parenting styles.  Parenting issues are more complex and require a significant departure from your usual norms and behaviors.  To completely understand several parenting issues, you should carefully study the different parenting styles as defined by authoritative development psychologists.

There are three known styles of parenting.  First, there is the so-called authoritarian parenting method.  The authoritarian parent demands and expects so much from the child.  Strict discipline is usually the norm of authoritarians.  This style is seldom responsive to the child’s individual preferences.  The second parenting method is authoritative-responsive.  This parenting style balances strict authoritarianism with responsiveness.  It is usually practiced by parents who have experienced the ill-effects of absolute parenting.  The most commonly practiced parenting method in modern society is permissive-indulging.  Permissive parents allow full development based on the children’s individual preferences.  Permissiveness is highly acceptable in today’s society.  However, extreme permissiveness may spoil the child thus undermining his or her proper psychological development.

You have to understand the different parenting styles in order to learn how to properly raise your children.  As early as the first trimester of your pregnancy, you should decide which type of parenting method to adopt.  Remember, the overall development of your child will greatly hedge on the way you raise him or her.  Make sure that you have a clear understanding of proper parenting in order to ensure a balanced baby development.

According to Sarah Palin, the European healthcare service operates like the Canadian cull of seals. On a regular basis, men armed with clubs go out among the unhealthy and older members of society, and put down those who no longer contribute to the strength of the group. Death panels decide who shall live and die. That means, by her standards, one of the leading panels is UK’s NICE – the National Institute for Clinical Excellence. This group of so-called experts draws up guidelines to be used by the medical profession. Whenever there is good research evidence that a particular treatment is effective, it is incorporated into the national practice standards. But if a given treatment or drug is not shown effective, the medical profession and hospitals are instructed not to use them. So, many of the procedures that are standard in the US are not allowed in the UK, and many of the drugs routinely prescribed in the US are either not available in the UK or only available if the patient pays privately. Despite this, people in the UK live longer and enjoy better health than Americans.

Anyway, NICE has just launched a consultation process to decide what advice to give pregnant women about weight loss. If you want to offer an opinion, you can do so during the next month through http://guidance.nice.org.uk/PHG/Wave18/3. NICE offers the opinion that women do not need to increase the amount they eat during the first six months of pregnancy. The idea that pregnant women are “eating for two” is a myth. The most needed is an extra 200 calories a day during the last three months. That said, it is always better for women not to get pregnant if they have a BMI of 30 or more. This is not to suggest there is a high risk to the fetus. But the evidence shows there are fewer complications during pregnancy if women lose weight before getting pregnant. In general, trying to lose weight during pregnancy is not advisable. Stability and consistency of behavior are more important. That means women who routinely exercise before pregnancy should continue. Finally, women should not be misled by celebrities who slim dramatically after giving birth. It is better to lose weight gradually. Even so, there is no evidence that the quantity or quality of milk is affected in women who do crash diet after giving birth. NICE simply suggests women do what feels right for them. If they are tired, they should rest. Hopefully, they are eating a healthy diet anyway. As long as they get back to their pre-pregnancy weight at some point, this will be good for their long-term health.

There have been no tests performed in the UK or the US to determine whether it is safe for women to take phentermine hcl during pregnancy. So applying the precautionary principle, it better if you do not take this drug during pregnancy unless your doctor has specifically approved it. What can be said with certainty is that the active chemicals do enter the mother’s milk and can have an adverse effect on nursing babies. Thus, if you do want to lose weight after giving birth, do not buy phentermine online and take it while breast-feeding. You should either wean the baby or find another drug that suppresses your appetite without endangering your child.

The causes of acid reflux (GERD) are rather simple should they not lead to complications. GERD without complications causes heartburn, nausea, and regurgitation. However, the complications are rather severe, ranging from an ulcerated esophagus, symptoms of coughing and asthma to Barrett’s esophagus which left untreated can lead to esophageal cancer and eventually death. So, it is best to seek treatment for the symptoms of Acid Reflux disease (GERD) before complications have set in.

What is Acid Reflux Disease?

Acid reflux disease is frequent (and sometimes not so frequent) regurgitation (liquid or food being forced in reverse direction in the digestive system) of digestive juices into the esophagus. These juices contain the digestive juices, one of which is a very strong acid (hydrochloric acid, HCL) which burns the lower esophagus and causes much pain and sometimes regurgitation of small amounts of liquid into the mouth. Acid reflux also causes heartburn and nausea.

Should these symptoms persist without monitoring and treatment the disease can lead to precancerous skin cells growing in the esophagus, this is called Barrett’s esophagus and can lead to cancer of the esophagus.

What causes acid reflux disease?

There are several causes of GERD. Acid reflux disease can be caused by any one of several disorders of the upper digestive tract. It is also a possible disturbance pregnancy because both hormones and the growing fetus are pushing on the digestive tract and can cause relaxation or opening of the lower esophageal sphincter which can cause a reflux of digestive juices into the esophagus and thus acid reflux disease. Hiatal hernia, which is a hernia or distention of the walls of the lower esophagus weakens the lower esophagus and thus sometimes causes GERD. The reason it only causes this in some cases is not known. There are several others such as congenital weakness or other abnormalities in the lower esophagus.

Signs and symptoms of acid reflux disease

The chief signs and symptoms are heartburn, a pain in the lower esophagus caused by the acid having prolonged contact with the unprotected lining of the lower esophagus. Nausea and regurgitation are the common symptoms which are caused by some of the digestive juices being forced up into the mouth.

Burning feeling in chest or heartburn after taking your food, burning sensation in throat, becoming croaky and even loosing voice, lingering bitter acidic taste in mouth, continuous coughing, finding it difficult to swallow are other few common symptoms.

The larger problem with GERD is with the possible complications that can occur with prolonged damage of the lower esophagus. Barrett’s cells have been discussed and are a serious complication that can lead to esophageal cancer. Other complications are an ulcerated esophagus, and coughing for unknown reasons, either because of the irritation in the region of the lungs and esophagus, or because an asthma attack has been triggered.

Treatment of acid reflux disease

The treatments for GERD (acid reflux disease) are certain medications, and a change of diet and other minor lifestyle changes that assist in decreasing the symptoms. Acidic foods are eliminated, fatty foods which can lower the LES (lower esophageal sphincter) and thus open it and cause acid reflux. Changes in sleeping patterns are also needed to prevent heartburn at night.
