If you don’t do pushups or pull-ups in your current routine you’re in for a tough time until your body adjusts. But don’t worry you will be able to improve your performance quickly. For example my wife was able to increase her maximum number of pushups from around 15 to over 40 during the 90 day program.
Don’t Expect to Finish The Routines Every Time. Like we said before P90X is intense. When you start out you shouldn’t be surprised or discouraged if you can’t complete all of the routines. You may be able to complete some of the routines but don’t be surprised when you run into a routine that’s just too intense or difficult for your current condition. The one that created problems for me was plyometrics it’s a 50+ minute jump training exercise that just wore me out. But I stuck with it and was able to do it comfortably by the end of the session.
Track Your Performance. P90x provides you with a log book to track your performance gains. Use it! The book is simple to use and includes everything you need to track your progress.
Follow a Healthy Meal Plan. P90x includes a complete nutrition plan with the program. It is well written and includes some good recipes. To get maximum results you should try to follow the program as closely as possible. But you can still see significant improvement with the program as long as you maintain a relatively healthy diet.
Try to Find a Workout Partner. You’ll have more fun and a better chance of success if you have a partner.
Take Your Picture. Take your before picture and stash it away out of sight until you finish the program then take the after picture and compare. If you follow the p90x program and eat a healthy diet you will notice the results.
Don’t Quit – P90X will Get You In Unbelievable Shape – But, you need to stick with the program for the full 90 days. If you miss a workout here or there it’s no big deal. The important thing is to get through the first ninety days. Once you’ve done that you can modify the program to meet your specific needs.
