To get ourselves started, let’s start with a simple reassurance: there are some excellent drugs on the market that will treat even the most serious outbreak of heartburn. They are called proton pump inhibitors and they work by reducing the amount of stomach acid your body produces. The good news is there’s less acid to leak out of your stomach and cause the pain. The bad news is that, with less acid in your stomach, it takes longer to process the food. So put the drugs to one side for a moment and think about the problem. When food passes into the mouth and, after chewing, falls down towards the stomach, your body gets ready to break the food down into its chemical ingredients. The good stuff gets syphoned into the blood stream and sent off to where its going to do the most good. All the rest gets expelled from the body. The $64,000 question is how the stomach does the processing. It all starts with the acid, but mixed into it are a series of different enzymes to help break down the different types of food. Your body is a very clever machine and, left to its own devices, it produces just enough acid and enzymes to clear the stomach quickly.
If your body “likes” the food, it sends a pleasure message to the brain. This encourages you to remember what the body likes and to eat or drink more of it. Unfortunately, the body likes the food that puts on the unwanted pounds. That’s why you get a buzz when you eat or drink something sweet or savory. When food with a high-fat content arrives in the stomach, you feel good and the body orders more stomach acid to break it down. If there was only a small amount of food, it would quickly fall down the esophagus and the extra acid would stay in the stomach. But if you are eating a lot, the sphincter separating the esophagus from the stomach is kept open to keep the food on the move. The food pushes the acid out of the stomach. Worse, if you don’t sit up straight, the acid can also run into the esophagus. Either way, that burning pain starts. Lying down immediately after a big meal is asking for pain.
So eat less and avoid food with a high-fat content. Indeed, all processed food is potentially bad news. Read through all the diet advice from reliable sources like the Mayo Clinic. It’s actually very simple. Keep with lean meat like chicken and turkey. Fish is equally good. Add plenty of vegetables and fresh fruit. Whole grains and low-fat diary products complete the package. It’s even better if you do a little exercise. You will feel better in yourself and your stomach’s performance will improve. Heartburn will be a forgotten problem without you having to buy and rely on Nexium. This is not to deny the excellence of the drug. It’s consistently been shown the best of the proton pump inhibitors. But, no matter how good Nexium, it’s always better to solve a medical problem the natural way – particularly if it also saves the cost of having to buy the drugs.

Baby Development Guide for Baby’s Eighth Month (weeks 31-35)
Your eighth month has now arrived and your baby is chugging along with a steady stream of intellectual breakthroughs and experiments. There are quite a few things to look forward to in this month and there are many things you can do to help him or her develop even further.
Physically your baby will probably be experimenting with more coarse foods. He is still unable to chew, but will enjoy foods with a bit more texture than before.
As tempting as it may be to try to give your child different types of food, be very careful with what you choose to put in front of him. Babies can’t chew, so large pieces of vegetables, nuts, grapes, etc are all a bad idea. Things with the sticky consistency of peanut butter are also out.
Your eight month old baby will probably also get less sleep although her sleep patterns will be more predictable. She has an increase in energy and an increase in her ability to interact with and learn from a whole new world (the new use of her thumb for pinching objects has also opened new doors) and sleeping gets in the way of all that!
This age might also bring out a more intense separation anxiety from your little one. She might have a hard time separating from you for extended periods of time or even just for a few moments. First, don’t rush to introduce new people to your little one- give her time to acknowledge them and feel comfortable with them before letting them hold her. Second, try to leave after she has eaten food and taken a nap. (Tired, hungry or sick children are more likely to be anxious.) Third, don’t make a big deal about it when you leave but don’t sneak out either. And finally, when you are home with your baby, practice short separations to help her adjust and get used to the idea.
Your son or daughter will probably also love mirrors about now. Learning that the reflection is theirs is an exciting thing. As his or her first teacher you have the ability to mold your little one into a learning, responsible person.
Intellectually your child will remember more at eight months of age. For example, she might remember that at a certain time of day daddy gets home from work or after he wakes up he gets to eat a yummy meal.
You might find her collecting various objects as she learns the differences between them (all while using her newly discovered thumbs). She might also start enjoying banging her head on things. Know that this is a harmless learning activity. Just make sure you supervise and wrap her crib with soft barriers.
Intellectual breakthroughs such as these will happen quite often around this time even if they aren’t as noticeable as in the past. When she experiments with different sound combinations, respond by saying something like “oh really? Wow” to let her know you are interacting with her speech.
Following are some tips to help him develop even more. As always, talk, read and sing to her; be affectionate and loving. You could even give her a running commentary of your day.
Play on her level with her too. Meet her at whichever mental and intellectual level she is at. It will also help if you help her practice her standing and even assist in having her practice falling from a standing position. If she’s like all other babies she will probably fall often, so knowing exactly how to fall is a needed skill at this stage.
Enjoy this time with your baby as he or she is learning tons of new things and gaining a whole new perspective on life. You will get little glimpses into their personality and opportunities at every corner to impact who they eventually will become when they are older.

This is the time of year when many of us pledge to make the next 365 days different. Whether we’re full of actual resolutions written on paper or mental promises to ourselves, it’s very common to look at the new year as a new opportunity.
And it is, especially with your health. It’s never too late to abandon bad habits – even slowly – and adopt better ones. Any improvements you make to add up to positive results in the long run.
Watching what you drink is a great place to start. Water makes up over 95% of your body; when was the last time you had 8 full glasses in a day? It’s likely been a great while, if ever. Many times, we think we’re hungry when our body is actually in need of water. So you eat something to satisfy that feeling (and perhaps over-eat, or eat the wrong types of food) when your body needed something else entirely. It’s important to drink plenty of water each day to stay hydrated, soothe your biorhythms, and aid your metabolism.
Focus on what you eat next. Does what you eat offer complete multivitamins? I’ll bet you’re heavy on the meat and carbohydrates and possibly the dairy group. But you’re probably very light on the fruits and vegetables. These final groups provide a huge amount of vitamins and minerals necessary to process and absorb the nutrients in other foods and yet you’re starving your body of them.
Nothing is a substitute for taking the kind of care you need. One way to take a step closer to the health you deserve is a complete multivitamin. These beauties can boost your intake and help support your efforts as you get started down a better regimen.
Look for a complete multivitamin, consider adding omega 3 and 6 (fish oil) as well.

If you are diabetic then you do not suddenly need to go on a strict diet, cutting out different types of food and eating radically different types of meals. Rather, the important thing is to plan your meals and get used to good eating habits and balanced portions of the major food groups. Here are some tips about planning your meals effectively if you have diabetes.
When it comes to breakfast you usually do not have to do too much adapting, as all cereals are fine for diabetics to eat. There are some cereals that have added sugar so try to stick to the more natural brands, where you can always add fruit to make it a little sweeter. Apart from cereals you can also eat breakfast foods such as toast and crumpets, but try to use low-fat margarines and spreads.
Make sure that you have three meals a day, which means making time for a proper breakfast and lunch as well as dinner. It is important to spread food out over the day to control your appetite as well as your blood glucose levels. If you want snacks in between meals then low fat yoghurt or a piece of fruit is a good idea.
You should try to have one main meal each day and make sure that it is balanced, with larger amounts of foods such as rice, bread and potatoes, and lower amounts of meat, eggs and so on. In every meal the largest part of the meal should be made up from fruit or vegetables.

Researching biotin hair growth supplements lead me to a lot of conflicting information, and I wanted to share my findings to help people cut down on the time it takes to investigate hair regrowth treatments. I am in a unique situation as my wife and I both suffer from hair loss, so I was doing double duty while looking for answers. I was able to find a solution that worked for both my wife and I that enabled us to grow our hair back significantly. Below I will outline the research that led to our success.
Biotin Hair Products Research
Biotin supplementation is a key component in stopping hair loss and stimulating hair growth. Biotin is known as vitamin B7 and is essential in assisting the body to be able to grow hair and helps promote healthy skin and nails also. This is important because dermatitis ahs been linked to hair loss. You can get Biotin naturally in foods like walnuts and eggs, but it is difficult to consume enough of these types of food to be effective. So supplementation is required for people who are experiencing hair loss. This is true for both men and women.
Vitamin B7 shows no major side effects if taken at the recommended dosages. Studies of people who were given large doses of Biotin showed no real side effects either, and is a fairly safe supplement for most people. This supplement has been effective in lowering blood sugar in diabetics and helping in weight loss as well.
After sifting through a mountain of information I came to trus the information above as being accurate. Based on these findings my wife and I began taking 5000 mcg of Biotin daily. Both of us had fairly good results with this supplement. Our hair loss seemed to be slowing and I began to see some growth on the top of my head. At this point I began researching again to see if there were other ways to get better results.
Minoxidil and Biotin Hair Growth
I discovered that a combination of Minoxidil and biotin would greatly enhance hair growth. Minoxidil is the FDA approved hair regrowth that most of us have heard about in the product Rogaine.
Minoxidil was originally created as a high blood pressure treatment that showed an astonishing side effect of stopping hair loss and in some cases hair regrowth. This launched a multi billion dollar hair loss treatment by the Upjohn corporation in the mid nineties.
Side effects are rare and mild when they occur and usually involve and itchy and sensitive scalp in the areas where applied. Typically men will get a solution of 5% Menoxidil and women 2%.
My wife and I began the Rogaine Program and continued our regimen of Biotin supplementation. Our results were even better this time. We both had stopped our hair loss and began to regrow hair. My wife had less improvement than I did, and we were still dissatisfied with the results. Don’t get me wrong we were glad to have improvement, but after months of treatment we felt we would never get the hair back that we were hoping for.
The Provillus Program Finally Gave Us Tremendous Results
I went back to my research and started looking for other solutions. My breakthrough came not from the computer though, but from my friend Joe Gammand. I was talking to him about our problem and he suggested a program called Provillus which had worked miracles for his wife Anne. I went back to the computer and learned about this system The thing that really caught my attention was that the program included the benefits of Biotin hair growth and other supplements that aided in regrowing hair. It was also apparent that the programs for men and women were very different from each other and had proven great results, especially in women.
Provillus offers a 60 Day Free Trial , so I signed up and we began trying the program. Within the 60 days my hair started to grow much more rapidly than with Rogaine, and my wife was actually showing beter results! We have continued with the program and have both grown back substantial amounts of hair. We look younger now by far and get compliments regularly
