Being overweight can be a serious problem and it is important to find a solution to it. The key to losing weight and keeping is to make sure that you do both exercise and diet properly as they are linked and you cannot ignore one or the other and expect good long term results. One key point to keep in mind that many diet and exercise programs fail to pay attention to is the value that weight training plays in attaining long term weight loss.

Proper weight training is vital:

Weight training is important for both men and women as it will help you to gain muscle and maintain it so that you increase your overall metabolism which will make it possible for you to eat properly, even binge or overeat once in a while and still maintain a healthy weight. There are lots of varying weight training equipments you can buy for home use and also gyms you can join which will give you access to a wide range of training equipments so that you never get bored using the same equipment all the time. However there is a key benefit to training at home as it is much more convenient and you have a much higher level of privacy if you are shy about training in a public environment.

You need to be careful when it comes to training with weights as it is easy to over train which can lead to a weakened immune system that is not good for your health. Be sure to eat right and also get enough sleep each day usually 6-8 hours for most people is enough. Most people should not train more than one to two times a week and if you lift particular heavy weights you might want to consider reducing the training to even once every two weeks. Remember also the importance of aerobic exercise as this will also help in increasing the number of calories you burn each day so you can lose weight more easily.

Weight loss is a function of the number of calories you are consuming versus the number of calories you are burning. If you are gaining weight then it is because you are either consuming too many calories or you are not burning enough calories each day so you need to monitor what you are doing and make the necessary changes so you get the best results possible. First make sure that you are doing cardio workouts three to five times a week and weight training at least once a week. If you know you are active enough then make sure that you are not overeating too much. It may not be practical to avoid large meals once in a while like during a family gathering or holiday but learn to back off the calories during regular days. Look into doing colon cleansing as well as this can not only help you to lose weight but also can really help to improve your overall health and fitness levels.

What has contributed to the fat and obesity problems is the changes in overall eating habits the past forty years guided by major corporations and the failure of most to make the necessary dietary adjustments. In addition, the quantity of foods consumed, easily surpasses the caloric requirements needed daily.

Well, the type of diet I strongly encourage you to search for is a diet that will be based on getting the right types of foods, eaten in the right manner each day (such as eating more frequently), and also is based around making foods fight stubborn belly fat for you (eating calories in a special pattern to trick the metabolism into soaring to the maximum peak)!

No matter how systematic and nutritious your meals are, if you do not combine them with the right exercise it will be difficult to reduce belly fat. First, you must have aerobic exercise to burn fat all over your body. While it does not target your belly directly, it will surely be one of the first places that will be affected. Second, you can combine this with resistance training as it has been proven to work effectively when combined with cardiovascular exercise.

Instead of just focusing on doing cardio or only working your stomach muscles add some strength training to your workout routine. You’ll get the most benefit from the larger muscle groups in your body such as your legs and buttocks so try exercises like lunges or squats to build lean muscle. Remember, the faster your metabolism runs the faster and easier it will be for you to lose body fat and start to reveal your sleek, toned stomach that has been hidden away under a layer of fat.

You should work out until you reach that rate. Make sure that you do a warm up exercise before performing any exercise. You can also combine weight training with cardiovascular exercises. Do a high intensity interval training session or what is also called short burst exercise to help you to lose your belly fat fast. To quickly get rid of stomach fat, you should exercise more of your stomach area. Exercising your abdominal muscles can help you build firmer abs. If you build muscles, this can help you burn more calories and reduce belly fat. Abdominal crunches can help build stomach muscles and reduce stomach size, only if done correctly. Abdominal exercises are best paired with cardiovascular exercises and are essential to flatten your stomach.

You must also beware of your daily dietary fat intake. If you want less fat on you, you need to eat less fat. Do not however cut fat out entirely, but chose healthy fats like fish, nuts, olive oil, coconut oils, seeds etc. These are essential fats that are healthy for different aspects of your body and actually help you lose body fat.

Jogging, swimming, basketball, and hiking are all workouts you can enjoy while getting a fat-burning working. You can also select from many videos which teach you how to lose belly fat. If you prefer to work out in the privacy of your own home, this is a great method to get the guidance you need without the expense and hassle of going to the gym.

Weight loss

For those of you interested in weight loss, exercising, dieting, and training, even sleep and stress patterns must all be taken into account. As far as exercise goes, muscle building is far more effective, in terms of weight loss than cardiovascular exercise. Exercise is an integral part of the process of weight loss, and weightlifting exercises are better than cardiovascular exercise in terms of weight loss because in weightlifting, fat is translated to muscle, where as in cardiovascular exercise, fat is melted away, so to speak! So, as regards weight loss, plan on squats, push-ups, sit-ups, and strengthening exercises.

For weight loss, as far as dieting goes, I have found the South Beach Diet to be quite effective for me. Weight loss requires mostly a “low carb” diet, where your focus is to eat certain kinds of “carbs” conducive to weight loss, versus others. It is also a very healthy way of eating that promotes weight loss, and as you can pretty much eat as much as you want, anytime, it is not a difficult weight loss diet to maintain in the long run. I do not actually cook any or all of the recipes listed in the book called “The South Beach Diet”, but I do eat the main ingredients of that diet regularly, for weight loss, and I stay away from potatoes, breads, and pastas. For weight loss, I use only low fat butters, sauces, etc. I have succeeded in weight loss in a very short amount of time, and I now maintain a regular, healthy, low fat diet. I also exercise minimally, and I will probably never be faced with having to go on a weight loss diet again. If so, I know how to lose weight very quickly!

In the practice of martial arts, and integral to weight loss, cardiovascular exercise, weight training, and even stretching are all integral parts of training. Aside from weight loss, I studied and practiced the martial arts when I was very young, and I was heavily influenced by Bruce Lee’s works. Later, I competed in Tae Kwon Do, and weight loss was an integral part of competition fighting. My weight loss plan and fitness training was then based a lot on the same ideas that Bruce Lee had. I will now outline a simple and yet effective weight loss and exercise plan.

For weight loss, start with a “low-carb” diet, eating boneless/skinless chicken breasts, London broil, fish and shellfish, and very lean hamburger, for meats. Also for weight loss, for vegetables, only eat green and white vegetables…broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, green beans, and brussel sprouts are good choices for weight loss. Also for weight loss, do not eat fruits or desserts, etc…use only low fat butter or butter substitutes, egg substitutes, fat free cheeses and salad dressings, and next to no salt and pepper…for weight loss, if you are creative, you can make excellent dishes all the time, and eat as much as you want, whenever you want, and maintain your weight loss plan. Make sure to also stay away from breads and pastas, and sweets period…at least for a time. For weight loss, you can gradually implement fruits, pastas, breads, and other things back into your diet after you have reached your target weight. Again, for weight loss, moderation with these things is the key! Oh…no beer! For weight loss, best to enjoy “low-cal” alcoholic beverages in moderation. Red wine is the least fattening!

To drink otherwise? Lots of water is best!

Regarding weight loss, for an exercise program, plan to spend no more than thirty minutes once every several days. For weight loss, your muscles need time to heal, and to build muscle (thereby translating fat into muscle), and you will not experience soreness. For weight loss, exercising for short periods of time every several days, even in front of the television, is an easy enough program to maintain. For weight loss, and to tone or build muscle, exercise should be both fat burning and muscle building at the same time. Do many repetitions of each exercise, and as many sets as you can…for weight loss, you want to work your muscles and develop a “sweat”. Do your repetitions as close together as possible…work SLOWLY towards your weight loss goal! Weight loss, true fitness, and mastery in the martial arts requires long term and repetitive workouts.

Weight loss with a diet as suggested above, and a thirty minute exercise routine two to three times a week; a weight loss workout including squats, push-ups, and crunches, and/or any number of replacement exercises and routines will produce weight loss in anywhere from two weeks to thirty days – anywhere from seven to fifteen pounds of weight loss, honestly!

My own personal regimen for weight loss and exercise, unless I am practicing the martial arts, is simply several sets of leg squats, several sets of push-ups, and several sets of some stomach exercises such as sit-ups, or tummy crunchers…for weight loss, the list of available exercises for martial arts training, even Bruce Lee’s own collection of exercises, is exhaustive! For weight loss, I do this thirty minute workout in front of the television every seventy-two hours or so…plenty, as I am no longer trying to execute an axe kick, and I am happy with my own weight loss!

A Bruce Lee workout often includes weight loss…a Bruce Lee workout includes stretching, bending, running, dipping, kicking, jumping, traditional muscle building exercises, weight lifting, rope skipping, medicine ball handling, etc. Even for weight loss, you would do well to read “Tao of Jeet Kune Do”, by Bruce Lee, as Bruce Lee studied almost all arts of combat, their weight loss programs, and their exercise programs, and included his suggestions in the above mentioned masterpiece.

What about weight loss and diet pills? It is really just speed, or caffeine, and suppresses the appetite. So, just do some cocaine, and you will experience considerable weight loss! (Pun intended!) For weight loss, diet pills, and especially cocaine, are not healthy for you, and they interfere with your sleep patterns. Besides weight loss, cocaine use has even more drastic side effects! Also, once the pill or drug is abstained from, the weight usually returns as the appetite is no longer suppressed.

In closing, if you want to succeed in weight loss, feel good, look tone or even muscular, adopt my version of the South Beach Diet, as a regular way of eating. For weight loss, begin with an exercise routine such as mine, and perhaps increase the length and severity of your workouts over time. Get plenty of sleep, vitamins and aspirin are helpful, and set about to work with your weight loss plan, chiseling the body you have always wanted for yourself…maybe we will see you in an upcoming Jackie Chan movie!

One of the most commonly suggested causes of hair loss in both men and women is a genetic defect. The fact it may be inherited means it is not your fault when your hair thins and falls out and, perhaps more importantly, the condition is not necessarily something that can be cured. Of course, there is some evidence that hair loss does run in families, but there is more evidence that our lifestyles and medical decisions can be even more important factors in deciding who loses hair and how quickly. We will ignore the cultural effect of changing hairstyles where too much traction in pulling the hair back into a ponytail or comparable style may accelerate hair loss, the effect of a general anesthetic for surgery (curiously, many who undergo gastric bypass surgery often lose the most hair), increased levels of anxiety and stress, and both chemo- and radiotherapy for cancer. The most consistent cause surrounds the level of different hormones in the body.

In women, for example, the level of estrogen drops during and after pregnancy, and during the menopause. This has been directly linked to both the thinning of hair and its loss from the scalp. Some women also lose hair as a reaction to particular oral contraceptives. For obvious reasons, the level of hormones naturally occurring in the male body tends to be more stable. But, in both genders, thyroid problems can affect the production of hormones and produce early baldness in men. Similarly, for a number of reasons, the levels of the hormones may be affected artificially. The most consistent causes stem from the use of steroids which are commonly used for a variety of strictly medical, e.g. to control asthma, and other purposes, e.g. as supplements to promote growth and for strength while weight training. As an adverse side effect, many weight loss products affect the thyroid and hair suffers. Finally, it is not just athletes who discover some diet and other supplements affect the level of testosterone in their bodies. Many who take “natural” dietary and nutritional supplements find out the hard way that some “natural” chemicals affect hair growth and retention.

This should give you pause for thought. Because there are many possible causes of hair loss, you should not guess what is affecting you and self-medicate. The research evidence shows the majority of people are completely unaware that their own lifestyles or the drugs prescribed to them by physicians may be responsible. Always get a formal diagnosis from your regular healthcare professional. If he or she confirms your hair loss is an adverse side effect of drugs or supplements you are using, the remedies will be clear. But, if male pattern baldness is confirmed, propecia is the tried and tested response (albeit not for Olympic athletes like Zach Lund who were banned from competition if they took this drug). Because this drug was developed some time ago, you will now find both the branded and generic propecia (also called finasteride) freely available from most of the online pharmacies. This will save you some serious money while enabling you to both slow hair loss and often encourage some regrowth. However, two small facts should be borne in mind. Propecia works best when it is taken early in the cycle of hair loss. Secondly, hair loss restarts once you stop taking the drug.

Today a growing number of individuals are looking for ways to get rid of excess body fat and get back into shape. But they are often misled by the commercials on television and magazines. In the process over look some basic and practical ways of losing weight. By incorporating some healthy habits in your day to day life you will succeed in losing weight. Here are in this articles we have discussed eight rules for losing body fat.

Rule 1: Consume less calories

Excessive consumption of high calorie food leads to obesity. So you need to follow a low calorie diet and decrease the consumption of salt and starch. Find out ways by which you can lose at least seven calories per day. Also avoid junk and eat healthy food. You can include foods like egg whites, soy products, lean meat, vegetable and fruits in your meals. You can eat salads, pastas and brown bread instead of white bread. Drink skimmed milk which is low in fat.

Rule 2: Look at yourself in the mirror not the weight scale

Dont focus on your body weight but your appearance. Look at your self on the mirror and check your waist line. Set a goal for yourself, motivate and push yourself to work harder for losing weight and to get back in shape.

Rule 3: Concentrate on weight training

Weight training is a great way of burning body fat. Exercising with weights increases the resistance of your workouts and it challenges the major muscles. When you are working on your muscles you will be burning a lot of calories in the process.

Rule 4: Exercise in empty stomach

Early morning is the ideal time for performing exercises. When you have an empty stomach the glycogen levels in the body are low, and it will be easier for you to burn the calories through exercises. But you wont be able to do so if you exercise after meals when your glucose levels will be high and you can only burn curbs through exercising

Rule 5: Eat smaller meals throughout the day

Skipping meals wont help you to lose weight. Its essential for you have three meals a day. What you can do is instead of having three big meals a day you can have six small meals a day. Follow a low calorie diet by including vegetables and fruits in your daily meals. Also avoid drinking hot beverages like coffee which has high sugar content and whole milk.

Rule 6: Let water be your only beverage

Drink sufficient amount of water through out the day. You can also drink fruit juice but without sugar. The best thing would be to eat the whole fruit since it is rich in fiber. Avoid taking aerated drinks as they have high sugar content and if you drink soda often you will end up putting on twenty five pounds within a year.

Rule 7: Eat home cooked meals

When are on a mission to lose weight dont eat outside food which are often high in calories. Prepare your own low calorie food at home and carry it to work or wherever you are going.

Rule 8: Sleep Early

If you dont get sufficient amount of sleep your body will secrete cortisol hormones which restores fat. You need to sleep for at least eight hours a day.

Follow these eight simple rules and leave obesity behind.
